How can i train myself to make better decisions?

okay so i really both need and want to change my lifestyle as far as eating and exercising. Its like this, i will start on a plan but i can only handle about a week before i give up. i was wondering is there some kind of way i can train myself to keep up on this? same with hygiene, i am pretty good with this but im not as good as i could be. im willing to make changes im just not sure what the next step is. i just cant ever seem to make myself do these things because they feel like such a drag and a drain on me physically. i mean after work i dont feel like i have any energy left to spare. this is a problem i have been trying to fix my whole life. i just cant seem to find the drive to change it. I cant seem to find the motivation or the right plan. im worried that the way i eat ill be dead by the age of 30. i mean i dont look really obese or anything i actually dont look to large. but its more than enough to make me embarrased to even walk around without a shirt. what should i do? im21
Answer:
Make one small change at a time. This way it won't seem so drastic and it will be much easier to stick to. For example, eat what you want during the day, but cut yourself off after dinner. Then try eliminating white bread, and instead eating whole grain wheat bread. Then gradually eliminate soda and replace it with water (you can use flavoring like Crystal Light if you struggle with plain water). As far as exercise, set small, attainable goals, like 5 minutes per day, 3 days a week. Keep a log, and gradually increase the time, even it's only by 1 minute per day. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can work yourself up to 1 hr per day (seriously!). Hope this helps!
